It’s been something like three months since I last posted here. Maybe I’ll get better at it.
I’m fairly settled into my new job in California. The family and I are adjusting to me only being home on the weekends and the kids seem to be holding up okay. They enjoy calling my on skype with the webcam but they are still in “performance” mode. Whenever they call, since they can see themselves on the video image they like to act up and goof off. It’s kind of fun to watch but can get irritating at times when you’re actually trying to talk to them.
I’m already up against my first hiring delemma. We need to hire a new programmer. Unfortunately, we have some short term needs that are fairly niche but also want someone who will be good on the team in the long term. It seems to be very hard to find someone with the skill set we need. I’m swamped with resumes but none of them seem to really apply the position we have. Either that, or my resume deciphering skills need some work. Probably a bit of both.
Not much more to add right now. Just rambling as the blog title says. Maybe I can get better at this and write a little more often.
